Although it may read as abstract from afar, at a closer look, recognizable elements star to appear on the painting. In actuality, this work presents human motifs and suggestive womanly figures who seem disguised by forms of traditional African masques, resulting in an unexpected dialog between sacred and profane, a common thread in Geers’ practice.
