Kendell Geers

This work takes part of the first phase of the artist, from 1988 to 2000, determinated by a strong political position as a white South African against apartheid system. During this time, Geers explored the moral and ethical contradictions in religions by developing a visual vocabulary characterized by provocation as well as humor and using found objects. By appropriating historical events and ideas, he focused on questions of the relationships between individual and society.
