Icono gástrico III

Carlos Aires

This work, made by ceramic printing on glazed china porcelain, refers to the traditional dishes from Limoges, Delft or Cartuja de Sevilla the artist has been collecting at Rastro in Madrid. In this case, the traditional decoration of flowers and pastoral landscapes is replaced by an abject myriad of body organs, insects and weapons. These motifs, which we often find in Aires’ production, are situated around the effigy of the Queen of England that appears here to comment on current Brexit crisis.
