A model is always a proposal for the future, a promise, a wish, a scale representation of an idea that will become a tangible, real, habitable space. In Domèstic, we find the model of Le Corbusier’s Unité d’Habitation, an emblematic building of the modern movement, the perfect dwelling machine and the promise of a better life for the popular classes, abandoned in the middle of the forest; herbs begin to cover the building. The gesture is eloquent: Unité, the modern architectural paradigm for a happy living in the world, devised as a universal solution from excessively predetermined and utopian assumptions, has now become a simple ruin.
